1 commentHello
This weekend sees us do an interview and acoustic session on BBC Radio 5 Live tomorrow morning between 9:00am and 12:00am. If you miss it you can hear it again here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/programme … ones.shtml
New Franchise is now available to download for free
aaaaannnnddddd the super spooky video is available to watch above. It’s also on our Myspace page, and the A/V section here. The video was directed by the lovely Matt Maude and was shot late at night in the forest at Otley Chevin last Friday.

More video to come once I work out how to make my Mum’s camera record for more than 20 seconds…
3 commentsWe are going out on a short, sweet tour in August in support of our free download release New Franchise. Have a look at the Live page for more information and ticket links for a few of the shows. Dom has been writing a blog about it for ages which you’ll be able to read when he finally puts it up on our Myspace.

We are still recovering from Cornwall. Heavy is an adequate adjective. We ended up staying an extra day to catch up on sleep etc. and ended up instead starting on the triple whiskies at 11.30 am. You only live once…
2 commentsI hope someone does one of these for us someday. In case you’re interested, we’re at a service station hotel in Somerset on our way to Cornwall to play at Beach Break Live alongside chart-toppers like The Enemy and The Wombats (no comment). The weather on the way down yesterday was glorious - unfortunately it also meant that our hotel rooms were volcanic. Hotter than hell.
Mido, our soundman, and I tried finishing a bottle of wine each to send us off to sleep. This worked for me until about 6am when the sun came up. I ended up having a shower about 7 and have since been killing time in every possible manner. I have now sampled Cafe Ritazza, WHSmith, the BP garage over the road, the bench, the picnic table - I may even end up on Time Crisis. I am on cigarette number 4 and coffee number 2. I am not looking forward to the sugar crash.
Will try and find some photos of us from today later on - Owen has a pornographically sweet new guitar.

3 commentsSo far… arguing over click track tempos, setting up bass and drums, getting into the groove, ham and cheese sandwiches, no crazy golf yet. It’s very sunny today and I’m going for a walk to the post box while Owen starts on guitars for The Shipping Forecast.
Went to Bridlington for supplies yesterday and was insulted within 25 seconds of getting out of the car. “What the fuck is that?!” Oh well, fuck ‘em…
Until next time

We arrived in Bridlington on the glorious East coast of Yorkshire today to start recording our debut album. During my long spells of inactivity (i.e. when Owen is recording 12 different guitar parts) I’ll try and keep the website up to date with
how we’re getting on, insider gossip, crazy golf tournament scores, what we’re eating and photos of our adventure.
Stay tuned

Last day of the tour. We had a great show.

1 commentAfter rehearsing solidly for most of March, this week saw us back out on tour around the UK. First night in Cambridge was a confidence booster thanks to a very enthusiastic and excitable crowd.
Following the cancellation of TNPs’ gig in Manchester on Monday, we ended up having a rather relaxing day at the city’s XFM studios for our session with Inspiral Carpets’ almost legendary keyboardist Clint Boon. Shortly after our arrival we discovered the table football, er, table, and were introduced to a healthy selection of cold beers from the adjacent fridge. Dom turned things around from my initial pounding of his team to win 2-1 overall in a best of 3 matches.
On Tuesday we headed up to Newcastle to see our good friends at Get Involved. We stayed in a flat above the venue which was amazing. I left the aftershow party to go to a house party across town and ended up sleeping on a sofa about the size of a shoebox.
The next day some of us went to ogle such magnificent inventions as the Yamaha Teniri-on in a local music shop, then headed off to York for a very enjoyable and surprisingly well attended homecoming-gig-of-sorts at The Junction. Most important discovery of the evening was that Rocky bars should be on our rider ALL THE TIME.
Unfortunately we have pretty much forgotten to take any photos, but rest assured we’ve also had fun in towns such as Sheffield (see below), London, Portsmouth and Birmingham with our friends Forward, Russia and new friends Errors (ace instrumental band from Glasgow). A couple of underage gigs in Doncaster and Leeds (with Operator Please) went slightly awry but can, I suppose, be written off as educational (ie. kids hate us).
Here’s a photo of us frolicking on the beach in Portsmouth taken by our lovely soundman Dan Kiener:
We still have some shows left on this tour which you can check on this website or on Myspace. Have a look.
